Part 7 of a series
DAY 2

From the Church of Santa Maria, we resumed our roadtrip to our next stop, Vigan! But before that, we’d have to pass by 3 more towns!

At 3:33pm, we were still in the middle of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.

Narvacan is home to Sulvec Beach. The rocky shore of Sulvec Beach in Narvacan is a favorite stop-over of commuters and the locals as well.

A few minutes later, we reached the next town which was Santa, Ilocos Sur. Santa is undoubtedly one of the most unspoken places in Ilocos Sur where you will least expect that great views may thrive in this supposedly scenic municipality.

By 3:38pm, we were at a very scenic point in Santa, Ilocos Sur. At the foot of the Ilocos Range lies the Zigzag road where one can take a good glance of the Abra River and the Banaong Bridge (more popularly known as the Quirino Bridge). The shape of this segment of the National Highway gives the feel of the roads going to Baguio City (Kennon Road/Marcos Highway).

From the zigzag road, we were greeted by breathtaking views of rock formations and the South China Sea. Being on an elevated road, seeing the huge open sea beside you with huge waves whipping the shores is such a sight to behold.

3:43pm. We reached this ill-maintained segment of the national highway. Friends from Ilocos informed me that this portion of the road has been left in such a sorry state for years already!

3:52pm. Banaoang/Quirino View Deck.

At the peak of the zig-zaggy portion of the National Highway lies the Banaoang (Quirino) View Deck. Overlooking the Quirino Bridge and Abra River, wonderful views such as a panoramic sunrise and sunset can be seen from the deck
