Piyesta KTV and Resto Bar, General Santos City

Part 16 of a series.

DAY 3.

While strolling around the General Santos Park, we found some stalls selling street food. We bought some Japanese sweet corn and at P15 per piece, it is one of life’s simplest joys!

Anyway, after breathing some fresh air at the park, Kuya Avel brought us to Piyesta KTV and Resto Bar at the alfresco strip of Robinsons Place General Santos. Eric was also brought there on his first night in Gensan so it was his 2nd visit.

Owned by salon owner, SOCCSKSARGEN Blogger and KikayMuch!, Donna Mae Congson, Piyesta reflects the spirit of a true Filipino fiesta by providing an overflow of delectable food selections, a very colorful atmosphere, and a very accommodating staff. Aside from those, Piyesta also has KTV rooms where families and barkadas can exercise the Filipinos’ favorite pastime, singing!

So, speaking of delectable food, we were made to try some of Piyesta’s best sellers:

Kurat Sticks: Fried lumpia + green pepper = Kurat sticks! I was quite hesitant to taste it at first since I expected it to be super spicy but then I took a bite and realized that it wasn’t really that spicy. It actually tastes like the regular lumpia plus a little bit of spice. It’s definitely a must try as this cannot be found anywhere else!

Pinakurat: Another must-try.

Sizzling Sisig: sweet, creamy and a little bit spicy, I like!

Rum Tea: Rum + Lemon Iced Tea = Rum Tea, heehee.

Jello Shots: I know why this is one of Piyesta’s bestsellers.. It’s simply one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen! Gelatin + Alcohol = Jello Shots! Kuya Avel was joking around that I might not be able to wake up on time and be left by my return flight to Cebu if I consume one whole Jello Shot, so I only took a sip, heehee. It actually tastes like ice pop (the kiddie favorite!), juice or jelly ace. Gawd, you won’t taste the alcohol at all so if you forget that it actually has alcohol content, then I wish you good luck! ;) ) It’s definitely not for the kids and the faint-hearted but it’s perfect for night-outs with friends. ;)

I earlier mentioned of a very colorful atmosphere, and true to its name, Piyesta sports a very festive environment. Photos of festivals from all-over the country are featured on its walls.
