Part 2 of the HK in 25 hours series

As soon as our “delegation” was ready, we walked through a maze guided by Team Airphil Express. I was still overwhelmed by the massiveness of the Hong Kong Airport even if it was already my second time in it. We walked, took an elevator going down, walked some more and took another elevator going up until we arrived at the Airport World Trade Centre Club.

The moment I stepped into the hallway of the WTC, I realized that I am one of the privileged few who have been to one of the world’s most elite World Trade Centre clubs in the world. We were then led to The Terrace for a short welcome program.

The room was filled with Hong Kong media armed with top-of-the-line cameras, was really, really lucky to be part of this.

While waiting for the program to begin, I sneaked out to the Sky Terrace to see the view and take a few photos. Kelan pa kaya ako makakabalik dito? Lubus-lubosin na natin ‘to! LOL.

The outdoor area is superb! It’s perfect for hosting cocktail and barbecue parties, and other special events.

Perhaps the best feature of the Sky Terrace is its 360 degree view of the entire airport complex, its Golf Course, Lantau, and Kowloon across the bay.

The heat outside was unbearable so I didn’t stay long and went back inside just as the program was about to start.

“We were quite enthusiastic about our first flight to Hong Kong,” shares Alfredo Herrera, Senior Vice-President for Marketing and Sales. (UPDATED May 28, 2012: Mr. Herrera is no longer with Airphil Express) “It is one of our kababayans’ favorite Asian places to visit, and with the entry of Airphil Express, it is now a top value destination. With the launch of the maiden flight of Airphil Express from Cebu, we hope our loyal, as well as new passengers, experienced a cultural celebration that gave them a good taste and glimpse of Hong Kong.”

Peter Y. Ong, Airphil Express President and CEO and Brian Hogan , Airphil Express Chief Executive Adviser (UPDATED May 28, 2012: Mr. Hogan is no longer with Airphil Express) spoke to the Hong Kong Media and industry partners, thanking them for the support they have given on their latest endeavor. The representative of each partner were presented with a die-cast model of Airphil Express’ Airbus A320 as a token of appreciation.

The Terrace is a classic restaurant that reflects the very best in authentic Cantonese cuisine. Only the freshest dim sum was served.

I love dim sum!

After the short program and delightful dim sum, we walked back to the HKIA arrival area to await our bus to Causeway Bay. While waiting, I couldn’t help but appreciate the architectural wonder that is HKIA.

The Hong Kong International Airport is among the busiest in the world. It is one of Asia’s main connections to the rest of the world!

At around 1pm, we were already at Empire Hotel Causeway Bay for lunch at the Empire’s Kitchen.
